Diarrhea Planet Shares ‘Spooner’ For Adult Swim’s Single Series

The Adult Swim Singles series is on fire right now. After a surprising and adequately throaty track by incumbent Atlanta rap superstar Future, the folks at Adult Swim have bestowed “Spooner” upon us, a thunder storm of a rock track from Nashville-based outfit Diarrhea Planet. In addition to having on of my favorite/the most disgusting band name in the alt-rock game right now, Diarrhea Planet know how to write aggressively catchy and thrashy guitar hooks. The initial instrumental build on “Spooner” reminds me of gray clouds rolling in over a lake–you can see the the path of chaos well before you are in its grips. And then when the downpour hits, it’s rapturous.

The best part about The Adult Swim Singles 2014 series is that we are only halfway through. For the next seven weeks, you can look forward to contributions from Captain Murphy, Run The Jewels, Mastodon, and more. Listen to the track below and then check out the release schedule at the bottom of this post. Shred on, nerds!
