Derek Zoolander Finally Gets His First Vogue Magazine Cover

The fashion world thought that Derek Zoolander was over the hill years ago during the first movie in 2001, but it’s 15 years later and his career is apparently doing better than ever: Gracing the cover of the February issue of Vogue is none other than Ben Stiller (a.k.a. Zoolander himself), as well as Zoolander No. 2 co-star Penélope Cruz.

The two were photographed by the legendary Annie Leibovitz for a recreation of several iconic fashion shoots in anticipation of the much-awaited sequel, set to hit theaters on February 12. Also featured in the photos are Gigi Hadid, Jourdan Dunn, and Alexander Wang.

Speaking of cameos, Zoolander No. 2 is slated to have plenty. Super famous people set to be in the movie include Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande, among many others. There are almost sure to be plenty of cameos that have not yet been announced, and we’re really hoping that one of those is David Bowie, who had an integral role in the first movie as the officiant of the impromptu walk-off between Zoolander and Hansel.

It certainly seems possible: Despite Bowie’s 18-month battle with cancer, his death certainly came as a huge surprise, and he seemed to be active and in high spirits during his finals months. On top of that, Bowie is a great sport and no stranger to film, so we’re really hoping this happens.

Check out the Vogue cover story, and find additional photos from the shoot, here, and let us know in the comments who you’re most looking forward to seeing in Zoolander No. 2.
