DEADPOOL to Get “Even More Raw” Director’s Cut

As the film industry becomes ever more conservative in its output—due in no small measure to the steadily increasing overseas box office—those of us who love movies are grateful for anything that shakes up the system because it appears to throw a monkey wrench into the Hollywood machine. At the same time, comic book fans are grateful for films that represent the diversity present in the superhero genre. So for those who adore both movies and superheroes, Deadpool has become a cause for rejoicing.

From the start, the film announced its intentions to break away from the typical Marvel movie mold, even that which Fox had employed for its X-Men and Fantastic Four films. Then we heard director Tim Miller’s adaptation would be the first mainstream superhero film in this Golden Age we live in (Kick-Ass notwithstanding) to receive an R rating. Once the onslaught of creatively irreverent marketing kicked it, longtime lovers of the Merc with a Mouth knew they were in good hands.

Now we hear the most exciting news yet from Camp Deadpool: actor T.J. Miller revealed at a fan event in London that a director’s cut of the film will arrive later this year, which promises even more raunch than that offered in the film’s theatrical version (opening on February 12th). Here’s a video with Miller’s remarks tweeted by one fan at the event:

What do you think was excised for the theatrical cut? Violence? Sex? Foul language? Something even more damaging to young minds? Let us know below!
