First Look at DEADPOOL 2’s Domino, Zazie Beetz, Has Us Feeling Lucky

After Ryan Reynolds blew fans away with his performance in Deadpool, all eyes turned to the film’s inevitable sequel, Deadpool 2. Joining the Merc With A Mouth are the time-traveling mutant Cable (played by Josh Brolin) and the luck-altering mercenary Domino (Zazie Beetz). Courtesy of Reynolds, we have our first look at Beetz’s portrayal of Domino looks like, and it recreates an iconic image used in the lead up to the original Deadpool.

Instead of Deadpool laying on a rug in front of a fireplace, we have Domino using Wade Wilson’s actual body as a rug! Reynolds’s photo includes the message, “Some people just know how to work a red carpet. #Domino #DeadPool2.”

We also got a second look at her thanks to Geeks Of Color, showing off Domino’s iconic eye mark:

So let’s compare Beetz’s look to that of her comic book counterpart. The skintight black outfit, arm sleeves, and boots are very similar to something Domino would wear—right down to the utility belt equipped with a handgun. Beetz also has Domino’s signature colored spot over her left eye. The only huge difference is, instead of short hair, Deadpool 2‘s Domino is rocking a Pam Grier-esque afro. And we must say, it looks very dope.

The image of Domino using Deadpool as a doormat reminds us that the same level of humor from the previous film will transfer over to the sequel and all its new cast of characters. For fans of the comics and films, we couldn’t ask for anything better.
