DC Comics is getting a little creative with the 75th anniversary of Batman. On July 23rd, the publisher plans to not only give out Batman masks and capes, but they will also release an updated version of Detective Comics #27.
That book, featuring the first appearance of Batman, will be redone by famed designer and Batman historian Chip Kidd, featuring a script by bestselling novelist and one-time Justice League writer Brad Meltzer. You can either pick up a copy of Detective #27 from your local shop or read it for free online.
And while you’re at your comic shop, you might also want to pick up one DC’s nifty 75th anniversary capes or one of four masks designed by artist Ryan Sook (prediction: the Batman ’66 masks will be the first to run out).
