DC Comics’ LEGEND OF WONDER WOMAN #13 Preview (Exclusive)

With Wonder Woman making her big screen debut this year in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the folks at DC Comics wanted to familiarize new fans with the history and backstory of the Amazing Amazon. Unlike with Batman and Superman, many casual readers just aren’t as familiar with the details of her origin story. The digital series Legend of Wonder Woman, from creators Renae De Liz and Ray Dillon, is an all-new version of Princess Diana’s beginnings, which presents her homeland of Themyscira in a different context. The story is filled with magical creatures, and more references to the realms of Greek Mythology than ever before.

Unlike previous versions of the character, the Legend of Wonder Woman‘s Diana isn’t the only child born on Paradise Island, and she’s not been granted immortality by the Gods of Olympus… at least not yet. There are several nods to the original comics from William Marston from the 1940s, like Wonder Woman emerging during the World War II era, and her befriending of a spunky sorority girl named Etta Candy. And in a nod to the Lynda Carter television series from the ’70s, Diana gains her remarkable powers from the ancient relics that were given to her by her mother, Queen Hippolyta.

And you can take a sneak peek at what’s in store for Princess Diana upon entering “Man’s World”  in our exclusive preview of Legend of Wonder Woman Chapter #13 in our gallery below.
