DAYLIGHT Slated For PS4, PC Release April 8

Our date with creepy abandoned hospital exploration, witchcraft and epic glow stick toting has been set, as Zombies Studios’ horror-adventure game, Daylight, will be released on April 8. The game is set to launch on the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms and will be selling for the sweet price of $14.99/£11.99.

Our fearless Nerdist News host, Jessica Chobot, played an integral role in Daylight’s development as the game’s writer, and had a few words to say about the long road to the game’s upcoming release:

“It is both exciting and terrifying to finally see everyone’s hard work come to fruition,” said Chobot. “Having pulled this off in such a short amount of time and with such a small team fills me with pride. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a talented and passionate group of people.” Zombie Studios Director, Jared Gerritzen, seemed equally ecstatic about the game’s imminent launch:

“Were very excited to get Daylight out the door. The game has truly become a monster, not even the developers feel we can play without getting scared.”

Daylight is the first horror title to run on Unreal Engine 4 and is a procedurally generated game, meaning the levels are crafted together on the fly, with no two playthroughs being the same. There were also a couple of pretty cool details unveiled today, like PC users assuredly being able to play the game using the Oculus Rift and TwitchPlaysPokemon-like Twitch.tv interactions being integrated into the game.

If you’re looking to get your spook on this spring, Daylight is definitely a game you want to keep your eyes on. It’s well deserving of its place on our list of top ten horror games we’re dying to play.
