David Hasselhoff is on the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Soundtrack—Listen!

The closing minutes of Guardians of the Galaxy unveiled Peter Quill’s “Awesome Mix #2″—a clear nod to the sequel now in our midst. But all of the classic rock in the world couldn’t have possibly prepared us for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2‘s only original song: “Guardians Inferno” by The Sneepers, featuring vocals from ’80s living legend, David Hasselhoff.

This is not a drill. And now you can finally listen to it!

Marvel has released the full audio from “Guardians Inferno,” and it’s just as gloriously insane as you’d imagine. The Sneepers really capture the sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s, but you’ll have to wait until the 1:40 mark to hear the Hoff rap about the Guardians—and yes, we said rap.

The whole thing is amazing from top to bottom (especially that Groot shout-out at the end). There’s no music video…yet, but we want it—nay, demand it! After all, the entire Guardians cast is currently filming Avengers: Infinity War, so they could conceivably just fly Hasselfhoff down for a quick video shoot, right? And if it happens, the Hoff should totally cosplay as Star-Lord and Ego the Living Planet.

As it just so happens, Hasselhoff actually covered “Hooked on a Feeling” back in the day—one of the songs that is most closely associated with the Guardians (ooga chaka). Although we have to admit, the beginning of the first Guardians of the Galaxy would have been a little strange if it used this version to introduce Star-Lord:

Of course, it has to be noted that Hasselhoff was the very first actor to play Nick Fury in a live-action TV movie. So, he’s been overdue to make his return to Marvel. Now if only we could see Hasselhoff’s Fury team up with Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury, even if only for a music video!
