Darth Vader Kill Count Supercut Proves Anakin Skywalker is The Dangerous One

Darth Vader is unquestionably one of the greatest villains in the history of sci-fi films. Everything came together perfectly, including the costume design, the conception of the character, David Prowse’s intimidating physical size, and that unforgettable voice from James Earl Jones. For the first two-and-a-half Star Wars films, Darth Vader was the baddest dude in the galaxy.

In the prequel trilogy, future Darth Vader Anakin Skywalker was one of the biggest whiners in the Star Wars universe. From Jake Lloyd’s 9-year-old Anakin to Hayden Christensen’s 19-year-old Anakin, he always found an excuse to complain about something. And don’t get him started on sand. It gets everywhere…

But what if Anakin Skywalker was far more dangerous than Darth Vader? In the newly released Darth Vader Movie Kill Count Supercut by YouTube user Mr. Sunday Movies, a surprising detail emerged. Anakin Skywalker killed 49 characters onscreen compared to Darth Vader’s 11!

How is that even possible? Well, Vader’s kill count is inflated by the very first Star Wars movie. During the majority of that film, Vader’s only victims were an unidentified Rebel prisoner and technically, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who basically let Vader kill him. But in the Battle of Yavin, Vader inflates his kill count by mowing down six rebel pilots. In the remaining two original trilogy films, Vader only killed two Imperial officers and the Emperor.

And yet when he’s Anakin Skywalker, his victims ran the gamut from Trade Federation members, Tusken Raiders, Jedi Younglings, and whatever the hell those flying bugs were called on Geonosis during Attack of the Clones.

Either way, the kill count doesn’t lie. Anakin Skywalker killed almost five times as many characters as Darth Vader did. It doesn’t matter if they’re actually the same guy. The younger Skywalker has the decisive deadly edge over his future self.
