Daniel Radcliffe Visited the Set of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

“Yer a Jedi, Harry!” For some reason, that’s what pops into my head upon hearing that Daniel Radcliffe got to visit the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. The lucky wizard. The star of the Harry Potter films discussed his experience in the galaxy far, far away during an interview at the premiere of his latest movie, Horns (read our review), and told ITV it was a fun experience.

Don’t go all Rita Skeeter with a Quick-Quotes Quill on this news. As far as we know, Radcliffe doesn’t have a cameo appearance or anything (though come on – how amazing would that be?!), he simply visited the set to see friends. He said it’s basically the same crew from the Harry Potter films working on the sequel trilogy: “Most people would be excited about seeing the Star Wars set but I went out because all my friends were working there ’cause it’s the Potter crew, they’ve basically just moved onto that, so I was going to see all of them.”

That doesn’t mean he didn’t enjoy the experience as a fan, and it’s just cool to see the lead of a franchise so many of us geek out over be enthusiastic about something like Star Wars. He told ITV, “I was so excited, ’cause I literally just watched the original Star Wars movies very recently, so I was like a new fan going on set. But I got to meet Harrison Ford and have a chat, and he was lovely. It was great.” I’m green with envy.

I feel reassured that the crew who worked on bringing the world of Harry Potter to life is connected to Episode VII. Pinewood Studios must be brimming over with magic and the Force, and that’s a wonderful place to be.

Bullshit. Look it up on IMDB. None of the crew that worked on Harry Potter is working on Star Wars Episode VII.

Wrong.  I did look it up.   Just a random check showed that both crew and stunt performers worked on one or more of the Harry Potter films.  But good try, thanks for playing.

“Crew” is not the same thing as “actors…”
