Crazy British Inventor Builds an Apocalypse Bunker in his Backyard

Some people build swimming pools or playgrounds in their backyard, but those things are too tame for the likes of Colin Furze. He’s a crazy British plumber and inventor, so naturally he spent two months building a massive apocalypse bunker in his backyard.

Well, he was actually commissioned to build it by UK entertainment channel Sky 1, to promote their end-of-the-world comedy/drama, You, Me and the Apocalypse. But still, it’s a pretty cool project.

Admittedly, when you see the word ‘backyard,’ you probably think it’s a lame looking structure that can only be photographed from the outside, and might actually crumble in the wake of a strong gust of wind, but watch the video above! Furze didn’t cut any corners in this build. The bunker sits three meters underground, and resembles a Lost-style man-cave. Naturally it’s equipped with everything you might need when trying to outlive an apocalypse, including a full-sized drum kit (very important to keep physically occupied), widescreen television with assorted video game consoles, steel toilet, comfortable bed, and tons of food.

To understand the full scale of Furze’s mad project, he’s uploaded four videos that detail his plan. Click here to see part one, and navigate onto the rest from there. It probably won’t come as a surprise that Furze’s YouTube channel boasts nearly 1.7 million subscribers–this guy has no limits.

Alright, what do you think of the apocalypse bunker? Would you spend a night in it? Reach out to me on Twitter, or make a comment below.
