Could WALKING DEAD’S Norman Reedus Join the MCU?

Soooo, Norman Reedus wants to join the MCU, that much is clear, but who oh who would he play? Well, if we were to throw out the idea of, oh, say, Norman Reedus joining the Marvel universe, which character comes to mind? Hmm, if you really give us time to think-Ghost Rider. It’s Ghost Rider 100%. That’s right–the devil-may-care, hog-riding, perfect-skull-having Johnny Blaze himself, and Norman is obviously the cinematic equivalent of the spirit of vengeance. And the icing on that fan-dream cake is that Norman himself just told Uproxx that he’d love to play the part. Technically his response was a resounding “hell yeah. Do I get a skull face that’s on fire and all that stuff? Fuck yeah. I’m down.”

So even though this was a long-standing pipe dream held by all of us over at Nerdist News, it feels just a little more real knowing that ol’ Daryl Dixon himself is just as into the idea as we are. Though technically there isn’t a Netflix show in the making featuring Johnny Blaze, rumor has it Marvel has been planning on creating a possible, sometime-down-the-line group of Netflix shows featuring Blade, Moon Knight, and oh yeah… Ghost Rider!

But would Norman Reedus even be their first choice if they did take Ghost Rider over to the digital mogul that we’re all enslaved to for the rest of our lives at the low low price of only 8.99 a month? Um… I’d say yes. They did just slay the casting game by utilizing Reedus’ former AMC co-star Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. That, plus the fact that we still don’t know if Daryl met the business end of Lucille in that terrifying Walking Dead finale, Norman might just be looking for a new job come the fall.

So if you mix one perfect Johnny Blaze with a greenlit show on Netflix, sprinkle in a little Marvel magic, does that mean we could see our perfect Ghost Rider? What role wouldn’t you want to see Norman Reedus in? Who’s your dream Spirit of Vengeance? Let’s discuss!
