Could Jon Snow Be The New Night’s King on GAME OF THRONES?

This post is dark and full of spoilers…but only if our predictions are true. We are six days out from the new season of Game of Thrones, and it’s time to get excited! For today’s episode of Nerdist News, we’re examining a theory that could change everything we know about one of the show’s most beloved heroes! But seriously, there are some possible spoilers. So, maybe beware?

Join Nerdist News host and quarter Hodor, Jessica Chobot as she lays out the idea that history is about to repeat itself in Westeros. You see, we all know that Kit Harington is back as Jon Snow this season, and nobody thinks that Harington is going to play Jon’s corpse for ten episodes straight!

The most popular fan theory is that the Red Woman, Melisandre is going to bring Jon back from the great beyond. And we admit, it’s possible. But the only person on this show who has demonstrated the ability to bring life to the dead is Thoros of Myr, a member of the Brotherhood without Banners who was last seen in season 3. Over the weekend, reports emerged that Paul Kaye reprised his role as Thoros during the sixth season…and that could mean that Lady Stoneheart will finally arrive on the show as well! Has anyone seen Michelle Fairley on set?

As for Jon Snow, our Managing Editor Alicia Lutes has a theory that he won’t be resurrected by any of the Lord of Light’s followers. Instead, Jon may find himself on the wrong side of the war between the living and the dead. Legend has it that the current Night’s King was once a man of the Night’s Watch who fell in love with a White Walker. We’re pretty sure that Jon burned Ygritte’s body, so she won’t be coming back. But he might take getting murdered somewhat personally and side with the enemy of his former brothers-in-arms.

Crazy, right? Maybe not. There would be a certain symmetry to it, especially if it sent Jon against one of his only surviving family members. But you’ll have to watch today’s Nerdist News to get more details out of us!

What do you think of our theory? Climb the Wall and let’s discuss in the comment section below!
