For years, we’ve seen some amazing cosplay inspired by Jim Henson’s fantasy classic from the 1980s, Labyrinth. More often than not, it’s someone dressed up as David Bowie’s character Jareth, the Goblin King, or maybe even Jennifer Connelly’s Sarah, usually in her elaborate gown from the ballroom sequence.
But thanks to Kotaku.com, we’ve discovered a Labyrinth cosplayer who evokes Sarah in her regular look as an ordinary teenage girl — and yet, it’s some of the best cosplay that we’ve ever seen. Her name is Alyson Tabbitha, and using her make up and costume skills, she has transformed herself into the spitting image of Jennifer Connelly in 1986. And it’s truly amazing work, you can barely tell the difference between Tabbitha and the real deal. You can check out some of her handiwork down below:
If you go on Alyson’s Facebook page, there are plenty of other examples of her creative skills at work. She has transformed herself into our new Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, the Vampire Lestat from Interview with the Vampire (along with vampiric cohorts Louis and Claudia), Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean films and as Edward Scissorhands, and even Padme Amidala from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. You can see some of these others below.
In our opinion, her make up skills are on par with the late genius Kevyn Aucoin, who could transform himself or anyone else into a well known celebrity using his amazing skills with make-up. Not bad company to be in at all!’
