Cosplay Friday #163 – Cosplayer Goes to Desert for Epic JOURNEY and THE FORCE AWAKENS Photos

If you have the opportunity to go to Egypt and shoot dramatic cosplay photos in the desert, you have to take advantage of it. It’s all about location, location, location, right?

Angela Bermúdez had the chance to be photographed outside Cairo as she was participating in a Maker Faire in the city, and she didn’t hesitate to pack a couple of costumes and make the most of it. I simply had to highlight her work in this week’s Cosplay Friday. If you travel and sweat for your art, I’m sold.

Angela said it took about three hours to get to the location. She wore her scavenger Rey costume inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens and because of the desert setting, she quickly put together a Traveler cosplay from the game Journey (quickly as in she finished it the day before she left). These are just a couple of the dramatic shots she was able to capture:

Angela worked with El.Bably Photography and Andrés Herrera on the photo shoots in the heat of the desert. They were joined at one point by a Kylo Ren–how he survived the sun of the desert in the full black robes and mask escapes me.

You can see more cosplay in the gallery below. You’ll find Doctor Doom, an on-point Daria, and a wicked Samus Aran suit.

Do you have costumes you’d like to see in a future edition of Cosplay Friday? Good because I want to see ’em! You can leave links to your cosplay pics or portfolio in the comments, tag or mention me on Instagram, or send photos to me on Twitter. I’ll add everything to the queue. Please be sure to let me know the name of the photographer so I can include credit.
