Earlier this week, we shared the news that a new documentary was being produced telling the story of Mad Max director George Miller’s unproduced film, Justice League Mortal. Now the producers of that film have created a Twitter account, and are dropping concept art for Miller’s movie as a way of letting fans know about the upcoming documentary.
The first image released so far is concept art for Aquaman, who would have been played by former Heroes actor Santiago Cabrera. As you can see from the image below, the current Jason Momoa version of Aquaman from Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman took more than a few cues from this design, which was done by Weta.

Next up is concept art for a scene of Wonder Woman (who would have been played by Megan Gale, currently starring in Miller’s Fury Road) flying above her homeland of Themyscira, also known as Paradise Island. Judging from this one image, Themyscira would have been rendered perfectly in grandiose Greco-Roman style, and I can only hope we get an image this perfect when it comes time for Wonder Woman’s own movie in 2017.

Speaking of Wonder Woman, we also got a bit of art that looks like Diana catching a car that’s been thrown off of a skyscraper? I’m not entirely sure, but it certainly indicates that the action sequences would have been enormous in this movie, certainly on the level of later superhero epics like Avengers.

So what do you guys think of this concept art? Do you still think we dodged a bullet, or do you wish this was the version of the JLA we were getting in 2017? Let us know in the comments below!
