Conan O’Brien Played CUPHEAD But Pretty Much Just Flirted with Kate Upton the Whole Time

Cuphead has been a game on the hype-train for a couple years now, and finally, after much delay, the retro-styled game is finally on its way to Xbox One and PC on September 28, 2017. As popular upcoming titles tend to do, Cuphead made an appearance on Conan‘s “Clueless Gamer” segment, and Conan’s guest this time around was model Kate Upton. Longtime viewers know that O’Brien can let his libido get the best of him when attractive women are around, so this edition of “Clueless Gamer” was more focused on ill-fated romance than it was the game itself.

The gameplay looks pretty incredible, as we’ve seen before, but before they got to that, as tradition apparently mandates, O’Brien and Upton participated in the ceremonial romantic dinner with violin player. Her disinterest was pretty clear, but it only clicked to O’Brien (who was playing up the bit and isn’t actually an uncontrollably and inappropriately sexual creature, by the way) when Upton pointed out that the flying baseballs in the game reminded her of her fiance, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander. So, alas, the intimate pursuit was curtailed.

O’Brien is often at his funniest when he’s at his creepiest, but it’s still a bummer that we didn’t get to see more Cuphead gameplay footage. While it seems like the actual gameplay is tight and engaging, it’s the vintage visual style that’s the obvious star and a real pleasure to watch. Thankfully, there’s a ton of clips out there of the game in action, so check out 11 minutes of gameplay below and let us know in the comments if you’re going to pick this one up (especially after O’Brien’s convincing display).
