Comedy Playlist: SCHITT’S CREEK’s Levy Cracks Up Fallon, a Meta Fast Food Ad & More

This playlist really hits home, folks. We cover one of this gal’s favorite new sitcoms of the year, Schitt’s Creek, care of Tonight Show guest, Eugene Levy. CH2 harkens episodes of my most coveted sci-fi series, The Twilight Zone, AND combines that love with a fast food item I just can’t resist. Plus, BigCob Productions unleashes my deep-seated fear of the documentary series Intervention and spins that horror 180 degrees with a super funny Reverse Intervention. Prepare yourselves for some supreme entertainment.

Please tell me you’ve been watching the charming Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek on Pop (formerly known as TV Guide Network). If you are not then shame on you! Father and son actors Eugene Levy and Daniel Levy star alongside Eugene’s co-star in a number of Christopher Guest films, Catherine O’Hara. Jerry Ciccoritti and Paul Fox direct Schitt’s Creek where performers Annie Murphy, Chris Elliott, Jennifer Robertson, and Emily Hampshire also join this madcap group. In this video, Levy senior joins Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show to discuss just how the writers got away with keeping that cheeky title, as well as explaining the ironic “rich family forced into small town living” premise. Levy’s timing is simply flawless. Did I mention Pop has already picked up Schitt’s Creek for a second season. Woot! Watch it!

Have you ever thought about being stuck in a fast food commercial? No? Well, watch as these poor saps realize the permanence of their reality in a Chicken Bell ad. See what they did there? Yes, you will be laughing along, but also kind of hoping this never, ever happens to you. I wonder how Rod Serling would have twisted We’re Stuck In A Fast Food Commercial. Shiver.

On the subject of good old frights, the A&E documentary series Intervention comes to mind. You remember it. Each episode followed one or two participants suffering from some type of addiction in anticipation of an intervention by their family and friends. Oh man, that was pretty gritty subject matter that left me in a daze after one viewing. If only they’d substituted the episode I saw with BigCob Productions’ Reverse Intervention at FOD. In this sketch, Bob’s loved ones are really tired of his clean, sober lifestyle. They implore him to changes his ways and start drinking again. One friend practically begs “Where did my bro go?” Of course, this intervention gets out of hand quick, but there’s a TWIST. Boom!

Which video made you laugh hardest? Tell us below.
