Coheed and Cambria’s Claudio Sanchez Announces a Children’s Book (Exclusive)

You are never to young too throw up a pair of Devil’s Horns.

Or at least that is what we can gather from Coheed and Cambria’s Claudio Sanchez’s new project. During a quick “5 Questions With” interview with the Coheed frontman, he revealed that he penned a children’s book titled, Kid Crazy and the Kilowatt King. The children’s book is, “about a kid that teaches a greedy king the value of the word please.”

Given that Sanchez is known for a discography that is so thoroughly steeped in the highly stylized narrative mythos of the Amory Wars, it makes a lot of sense that the prolific songwriter and comic book writer would extend his reach outward to new, younger fans. If you can capture the creativity of a young kid, then you have a lifelong fan, right?

Among other topics we covered were Sanchez’s take on the new Batman V. Superman, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, which video games he would love to score, and a few records that were important to him during the formation of Coheed and Cambria. It was such a pleasure to speak with Claudio about the impressive amount of projects he has going on and if you are lucky enough to live in the Los Angeles area, you should make your way to the Palladium Tuesday night for Coheed and Cambria’s show. Can’t make the show—worry not! You can catch them on a few more dates of their current tour. Finally, be sure to pick up the group’s latest record, The Color Before The Sun, which is out now.
