Spider-Man Enlists in CIVIL WAR II in Latest Teaser Image (Exclusive)

Although the big Secret War is now behind us, there’s still no rest for weary, as a second Civil War between the heroes of the Marvel universe is already brewing. Over the past few weeks, Marvel Comics has been releasing teaser images for the upcoming event series Civil War II, each featuring a prominent character alongside the lines “Protect the Future/Change the Future.”

Already, we’ve seen teasers of this sort featuring characters like Black Panther, Hawkeye, Medusa of the Inhumans, and most recently, a young Ms. Marvel, who is shown ripping a picture of her mentor Captain Marvel in half. Now, the latest image features arguably the most important character in the Marvel universe: Spider-Man. You can see the teaser by artist Phil Noto below:

So just what is the conflict this particular Civil War revolves around? Here’s Marvel’s basic synopsis for the series, which is being written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by David Marquez:

A mysterious new Marvel character comes to the attention of the world, one who has the power to calculate the outcome of future events with a high degree of accuracy. This predictive power divides the Marvel heroes on how best to capitalize on this aggregated information, with Captain Marvel leading the charge to profile future crimes and attacks before they occur, and Iron Man adopting the position that the punishment cannot come before the crime.

So far, it kind of sounds like Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report meets Marvel’s original Civil War mini-series. But which side does Spider-Man fall on? For my money, I’d say Spidey would be on Iron Man’s side. But the last time he chose Tony Stark’s side in a civil war, things didn’t work out so great for him. He exposed his identity, his Aunt May got shot, his marriage had to be magically undone… it was a whole thing.

Which side of the latest Marvel civil war do you think Spider-Man is going to fall on? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
