OUTCAST Now Has a Premiere Date and Season Two Renewal

Cinemax is really doubling down on Outcast, the new horror series from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman: ahead of the first season of Outcast, the network has already committed to a second season!

The Outcast renewal announcement was made at SXSW, where it was also revealed that the series finally has a premiere date: Friday, June 3, 2016. Outcast is based on the comic book series of the same name by Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta.

Almost Famous star Patrick Fugit is headlining Outcast as Kyle Barnes, a man who has been afflicted by demonic possession for his entire life. In the present, Kyle is drawn into the mystery of Joshua Austin (Gabriel Bateman), an eight-year-old boy whose demonic possession is connected to Kyle’s ordeal, and yet quite different. As Kyle searches for answers and for a way to free both himself and Joshua, he uncovers something that could literally change the fate of the world.

Joining Kyle’s quest is Reverend Anderson, as portrayed by Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes star, Philip Glenister. Reverend Anderson is a firm believer in doing the work of God and smiting demons, but he’s less hung up on his favorite vices: drinking and gambling.

Outcast season one will run for ten episodes. Presumably, the second season of Outcast will also get ten episodes and will air on Cinemax in 2017.

And while you’re here, why not watch Dany Casey’s interview with the cast and creators from NYCC:
