Chucky’s Back with a Vengeance in the First CULT OF CHUCKY Trailer

It’s been nearly 30 years since Chucky became our “friend to the end” in the original Child’s Play. But this fall, Chucky’s back for a new game of “hide the soul” in Cult of Chucky!

During the events of the first movie, serial killer Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) used voodoo magic to transfer his soul into a Good Guy doll before beginning an all new killing spree as Chucky. Young Andy Barclay was Chucky’s first owner, and very nearly his new vessel. Alex Vincent is reprising his role as Andy for Cult of Chucky, and this is a rematch that’s been been building for three decades. But considering Chucky’s longevity, it would be foolish to bet against the killer doll!

This film is a direct sequel to Curse of Chucky, the 2013 sequel that introduced Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce. Nica has the leading role in Cult of Chucky, as she was institutionalized after the events of the previous movie. For this film, Nica has managed to convince herself that she was simply imagining Chucky, and her well-meaning psychiatrist decides to give her a Good Guy doll as a therapeutic tool. (I think we all know where this is going.) Jennifer Tilly also makes a cameo in the trailer as Tiffany, Chucky’s wife, who has apparently regained her human form.

Cult of Chucky was directed by Child’s Play screenwriter Don Mancini, and it is heading direct-to-video on October 3.
