Great scott! He wants to go backâback to Back to the Future!
Making sure all of our wildest dreams live on, Christopher Lloydâin an interview with The Hollywood Reporterâsaid heâd love to do a fourth Back to the Future film. Assuming, of course, they get the entire team back together, including Michael J. Fox, Bob Gale, and Robert Zemeckis.
“It’s tough to come up with an idea that contains the excitement of the original three, so it would be a real challenge for the writers to come up with an original Back to the Future story that has the same passion and intensity and excitement as the other three. But it could be done, you never know.” the actor said.
With the huge 30th anniversary celebration going on this month (seriously hugeâcheck out all of our coverage), and the arrival of Back to the Future Day (October 21st, 2105, the date the second film sent Marty and Doc to), itâs easy to see why Lloyd would be thinking about returning to one of his most iconic roles, even if the odds of another film are probably non-existent.
And as for that 2015 prediction from the second film, the one about the Cubs winning the World Series? Well, the Cubs did advance to the National League Championship series, only eight wins away from becoming the greatest prediction in movie history. If they make the World Series Lloyd would like to throw out a first pitch.
âMaybe it’ll happen. We’ll see. They got to get there first,” he said.
As a huge Back to the Future fan that would lose his mind watching Doc Brown throw out a first pitch for the Cubs during the 2015 World Series, all I can say is: âGo Cubs!â
