Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba Take Over Tom Hiddleston’s Acceptance Speech

When you’re famous for playing the conniving and duplicitous Loki, it should be expected that Thor and Heimdall are always going to keep a very close eye on you, especially when you are holding something of value, like an award. So none of us should be surprised that Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba came over to investigate/interrupt Tom Hiddleston as he accepted a shiny new acting trophy.

Hiddleston won the award for best actor from TV Choice Magazine for playing Jonathan Pine in the BBC’s The Night Manager (beating out Doctor Who‘s Peter Capaldi, Downton Abbey‘s Jim Carter, and Peaky Blinder‘s Cillian Murphy), but was unable to attend the ceremony because he is currently in Australia filming the third Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok, which meant Hemsworth and Elba were right there to come by and give his new award the once over. And also to give him a hard time in general (before saying a bunch of nice things about him).

We first saw this over at Mashable, and while the Home and Away references from Hemsworth may have went over some of our heads (it is an Australian soap opera, and based on Hemsworth’s tone not one he holds in the highest regard), we definitely appreciate Elba’s questioning of why he wasn’t nominated for his show Luther.

Hey, in fairness, with so much great television on these days it’s hard for everyone to see everything. We’re not all Heimdall, you know what I mean?

Did you See The Night Manager? What did you think of Hiddleston’s performance in it? Where does it rank among your favorites from him? Tell us in the comments below.
