If you didn’t know, it’s National Pet Day. And also if you didn’t know, Chris Evans, a.k.a. Captain America, is a devoted dog dad to a very good pupper named Dodger. And Cap turned our hearts into sappy piles of goo when he shared a video of him reuniting with his pup after ten weeks away filming. Well, Evans is back at it again, posting a video of the first moment he met Dodger at the pet rescue and we.are.dead.

Look at his tail wagging as soon as Evans approaches! He’s clearly a good and sweet doggo and so ready be someone’s best friend! And luckily, he found a forever home and buddy in Evansâthe actor says he knew right away he wanted to rescue Dodger. If you’ve ever adopted a pet, you understand that feeling. When you meet your new pet, you can just tell when it’s meant to be.
