Netflix’s red-hot Orange is the New Black has increased its number of devotees tenfold with its just-released second season (or something probably like tenfold — Netflix isn’t exactly sharing its numbers). And to celebrate, they’ve created an official Orange is the New Black food truck. The truck rolled through Mexico City and New York earlier this month, and will hit the streets of Los Angeles this weekend. Named “Crazy Pyes” — after the show’s beloved Suzanne âCrazy Eyesâ Warren (actress Uzo Aduba) — the truck dispenses free fruit pies, in honor of Warrenâs oft quoted season 1 line, âI threw my pie for you,â and free chocolate-and-vanilla swirl ice-cream cones after her adorable love chant to Taylor Schilling’s Piper Chapman (“Chocolate and vanilla swirl-irl, swirl-irl.”)
Here’s the list of stops Crazy Pyes is currently scheduled to make in LA (courtesy of Variety):
6/20, Friday, 4 to 8 p.m.: Hollywood and Highland
6/21, Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m.: Corner of Culver Blvd & W. Washington Blvd. Next to The Culver Hotel
6/22, Sunday, 2 to 6 p.m.: The Brig on Abbot Kinney in Venice
Netflix is planning to drive their Crazy Pyes truck through some additional cites later this month. Fans of pies, ice cream, or Orange is the New Black (which covers damn near everyone in the country) are hereby advised to keep an eye on the show’s Twitter feed (@OITNB) to get the latest info as it’s announced. Bon appetite!
