Chewbacca Becomes a Muse In This Wookiee Fine Art Series

There are some sentences and phrases you never think you’ll find yourself typing and “Wookiee fine art” is one of them. But, here we are. Artist Christine Parisi’s muse is Star Wars’ very own Chewbacca. You can’t blame her. Chewbacca is loyal to his friends even when it puts his life in danger, he’s very tall and can reach glasses on the highest shelves, and he has soulful eyes. What? He totally does. Whatever allure the Chewbacca has, Parisi captures it in her series of art starring him.

Her paintings get Chewbacca out of the Millennium Falcon and into a variety of settings. He’s dressed up in women’s clothing to become the Girl with the Pearl Earring in Johannes Vermeer’s painting, Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, and Queen Elizabeth I. He pulls off the look but I can’t pretend it’s not a little creepy.

When he’s not putting on dresses and makeup, Chewbacca has taken on other roles. He’s been Sherlock Holmes, Worf from Star Trek, and Hunter S. Thompson. The hat and coat suit him, don’t you agree?

Parisi displayed and sold her art at Reed’s Local in Chicago as recently as December. If you’re itching to get your hands on some unique art for your walls, you can reach out to Parisi on her Facebook page and see what’s available. She says she sells prints so it’s possible you could cover a room in the Wookiee fine art presented in the below gallery. Please take pictures if you do that.

If you could insert Chewbacca into any famous painting, which one would it be? Let me know in the comments!
