Check Out Two New Promos for FALLING SKIES Season 4

There’s something you really have to respect about the Steven Spielberg produced series Falling Skies. It’s a show that knows exactly what it is and what it wants to be. It’s a war story set in an alien infested post-apocalyptic world, and that’s what makes it exciting. Some of the best action sequences to come out of the series didn’t happen in the pilot, they happened last season as the Volm and remaining human resistance fighters took on the Espheni. For any flaws it may have, Falling Skies has remained a consistently entertaining show throughout its run, and these promos for the upcoming fourth season continue down that path:

The whole arc with Tom’s rapidly aging daughter Alexis is probably where most of the story-meat will be contained this season. Seriously, what’s up with that girl? As the series continues, the crazier it becomes, and that’s fine because the crazier it becomes, the more entertaining it becomes, too! And here’s something else of note: that Weaver line in the first promo that goes, “This may just be a winnable war.” Are the writers starting to think end game? It’s entirely possible. The shelf life of a genre series like Falling Skies usually maxes out around Season 5, so it’s not at all out of the realm of possibility that we could be seeing the beginning of the end this season.

Falling Skies premiere Sunday, June 22nd at 10/9c on TNT.

love this show. it is one of the few series that I make a point to watch. I also think that the “shelf life” with Falling Skies is different because it has only had 30 episodes thus far and has not gotten cliche yet. The story lines make you care about these people, which is what it is all about. The journey travelled.
