While Avengers: Age of Ultron may be Marvel’s biggest property premiere of 2015, it most certainly isn’t the first. No, that honor falls to the much anticipated, 1940s set, Hayley Atwell-starring Agent Carter. However, we know teasers and trailers aren’t enough, so that’s why today we’ve come equipped with something fresh: a whole gallery of brand new images from the series premiere that you can enjoy. Set in a time following the events of the MCU’s World War II and the “death†of Captain America, Agent Carter rejoins Peggy in a world that sees the men return home and the women forced to go back to the societal norms preceding the conflict. However, this doesn’t sit well with Ms. Carter, who’s busy working as a secretary at the S.S.R.. Luckily, she doesn’t have to sit around long as things take a turn when her good buddy, Howard Stark, re-enters her life with a mission that puts her right back into the hot seat to which she is more than accustomed.
Beyond the idea of Marvel trying out a new genre in the form of a period piece, it’s really nice to see Hayley Atwell return to the butt-kicking stylings of Peggy Carter. If the marketing is any indication, she hasn’t missed a beat in her absence, and that’s good because as we’ve said before, butt kicking Peggy is the best kind of Peggy.
Agent Carter premieres Tuesday, January 6th at 8/7c on ABC.
