In celebration of the digital release of Captain America: Civil War, Marvel has been releasing bonus features online, from behind the scenes footage to the blooper reel. Their latest extra is something fans have been wanting to see since SDCC, and now their wishes have been granted.
Reported by ComingSoon.net, the above video is the mockumentary directed by Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi that Marvel showed during their Hall H panel. Here’s where we find out what Thor (Chris Hemsworth) was doing while his teammates were at each other’s throats. It turns out he moved to Australia because he needed a break. He then introduces his flatmate Darryl Jacobson.
Thor shows us his bedroom, which has a wall dedicated to finding the Infinity Stones, but from the looks of it, he’s not getting very far. It’s also obvious that drawing may not be the God of Thunder’s best talent. He takes the time to have some coffee with friends, as he meets up with fellow Avenger Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) to discuss the happenings of Civil War, as well as an issue regarding the Hulk’s pants. I feel that one’s been a long time coming.
What most fans will be pleased about is the newly formed Team Thor. I am looking forward to seeing them in action during Infinity War.
While the video shows that Waititi has the comedy aspect of Marvel down to a science, I am interested to see how he handles the dramatic scenes. The movie is called Ragnarok, after all. Considering the talent pool of all involved, I have 100% faith he will do it justice.
Thor: Ragnarok, also starring Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, and Tom Hiddleston, opens in theaters November 3, 2017.
So what do you think? Was Thor making good use of his time? Just how amazing IS Chris Hemsworth’s comedic timing? Let me know on Twitter or write an electronic letter in the comments below.
