Check Out THE STAR WARS: LAST JEDI 8-Bit Trailer

Check Out THE STAR WARS: LAST JEDI 8-Bit Trailer

We all collectively freaked out when the first teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi dropped. With montages of Rey training with Luke, badass battle cuts, and some ominous words of Luke (“It’s time for the Jedi to end”), Star Wars fans have since been champing at the bit for more information and content from the film.

While we’re still waiting for another trailer for The Last Jedi to be released, JoBlo took the trailer and gave it the look of an old-school Nintendo game. The trailer replaces the sweeping John Williams score with an 8-bit rendering of his music, and sticks to the medium of retro gaming by replacing the actor’s voices with text boxes. Whether you’re a fan of Star Wars or retro gaming, this trailer is an utter delight.

While the makeup of each shot does have to change a bit to accommodate the 8-bit, retro gaming visuals, the trailer sticks pretty closely to the real Last Jedi teaser. We get to see all of our faves in this retro rendering. The trailer features Rey trying out the Force next to an 8-bit Luke while Poe and BB-8 make a daring escape from danger. We also get a quick look at the newly announced planet Crait, and Poe chilling in his healing pod.

Of course, no new Star Wars trailer would be complete without a visit from its resident adult temper-tantrum thrower, so we most certainly see Kylo Ren’s 8-bit rendering is just as poignant standing next to his ruined helmet. The re-imagined trailer equal parts nostalgic, adorable, and just good internet viewing.

Even with the unique format, this trailer keeps all the hype and will get you even more pumped up for the film’s December release. What do you think of the trailer? Let us know in the comments!
