Check Out the Eerie Poster for Horror Comedy THEY’RE WATCHING (Exclusive)

Think back to when you were a kid. Chances are, you made your way through a video store once or twice. If you’re anything like me, whenever you ventured into the horror section, you found yourself intrigued but also a bit scared by the key art on the VHS covers that surrounded you. When it comes to the horror genre, a good poster or piece of art can make all the difference. Today, Nerdist is thrilled to bring you an exclusive new poster for the much anticipated horror comedy They’re Watching, written and directed by Micah Wright and Jay Lender of Call of Duty and SpongeBob SquarePants fame. The image was created by artist Akiko Stehrenberger, whose previous work includes posters for It Follows, Her, Room 237, and the new FX comedy series Baskets.

Theyre Watching Nerdist Exclusive 03 15 16

Pretty groovy, huh?

So far, we’ve seen a poster and trailer that hint at some truly messed up situations mixed with some clever comedy. But what exactly is They’re Watching all about? “When friends and family ask us what They’re Watching is about, we smile and say, ‘You know that television show House Hunters International? Our movie’s like that, only at the end, everybody dies screaming,'” say writer/ directors Micah Wright and Jay Lender.

“Although we’re big horror movie fans, we feel too many of them serve up ingenious deaths for cardboard characters, so instead we put our efforts into making characters you love. We encouraged our amazing actors to improvise and build upon our script until each character became a living, breathing person you care about. You won’t be wondering how they’re going to die—you’ll be hoping they won’t,” adding, “But they will.”

They’re Watching arrives in theaters and On Demand on March 25, 2016.
