Check out MUPPETS MOST WANTED’s Opening Number, ‘We’re Doing A Sequel’

“Oh no! Disaster! That can only mean one thing!” That’s right, Statler and Waldorf. A sequel. With just a month to go before the film’s premiere, Disney has released another tongue-in-cheek, star-studded trailer for Muppets Most Wanted. In fact, Disney has been releasing teasers, Muppisodes, fan-reviewed trailers, Super Bowl trailers, and a number of other viral marketing videos to get audiences ramped up for The Muppets sequel, and let’s just say the tactic is working. How is this movie not out yet? Give us Miss Piggy!

Luckily, this trailer is just as charming as its predecessors. It introduces “We’re Doing a Sequel,” Muppets Most Wanted‘s self-aware opening number. Set up like a classic movie musical, Kermit, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy and the entire Muppet gang takes a few jabs at themselves, the film industry, and movie studios with lines like, “We’re doing a sequel! That’s what we do in Hollywood. And everybody knows that the sequel’s never quite as good.” Wink. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like the Muppets are pulling out all the stops to make sure their sequel’s up to snuff.

4d3OT, I went to see the movie Zookeeper yesterday with my flaimy. It’s a Kevin James film, where he plays (obvs) a zookeeper and all the animals can talk to him. The storyline is that he’s a sweet, down-to-earth guy who is in love with a ghastly woman shallow, dumb, obsessed with money and desperate for a glamorous lifestyle (models, parties, etc). She’s played by Leslie Dibb (who was the tall blonde rival in Shopaholic), so she’s *really* gorgeous but in terms of her character: well, hello Julia! Then there’s this scene, quite far into the movie, when Kevin James goes with her to a cool fashion party, and he manages to fit in only by being nasty about everyone, including his girlfriend. She has a distinctive, awful laugh (sound familiar?) and he calls her out by saying: Woah! Get the donkey back in the barn! In the scene, everyone loves that and laughs and he’s a big hit. As the scene ends, you hear the sound of her braying continue in the background .I simply CANNOT believe that the person who wrote that scene doesn’t walk among us.
