Due to his recent trip to Australia and hectic shooting schedule on MythBusters (which is set to debut new episodes in January under a slightly new format), itâs been a while since we got a new Tested video from Adam Savage. However, because Adamâs not one to drop off the internetâs radar completely, the infamous maker has released a brand new video showing off the latest prop addition to his San Francisco cave:
Itâs hard to believe someone would ever be this excited about getting something from Keanu Reevesâ 47 Ronin, but thereâs no arguing the craftsmanship of the armor is superb. As Savage is one valuing attention to detail, we canât say his purchasing of this piece was a bad decision.
Prop Store is home to hundreds of movie items like this that can be purchased by anyone from collectors to cosplayers. Two of the auctions currently happening at the store feature items from Ron Howardâs Rush, and, perhaps even better, props from Guillermo del Toroâs monster vs robots blockbuster, Pacific Rim.
As we wait for the next Adam Savage video to hit the interwebs (hereâs hoping for a new build tutorial), searching through the items at Prop Store will do plenty to satisfy our nerdy desires until such a time arrives. Now the real question is, can we buy Jamie Hynemanâs beret from there? Thatâs something we would pay some hard earned money to own.
What do you think of Adamâs latest acquisition? Let us know in the comments below.
Could had purchased a real one for less!
You should watch it just to see the props and sets, the attention to detail is magnificent. However the movie is quite bland because the 47 Ronin don’t really stand out as individuals and a little character would have gone a long way for the film. All this being said as prop maker, I strongly suggest you watch it.
Propstore is now my new favorite time waister! Awesome!
Wow, it’s impressive how detail and comfortable it looks! I’m looking forward to new cave to start doing big thing like this, now it’s just under my couch xD but i keep working on stuff!
I actually really liked 47 Ronin. Regardless, that prop suit is awesome.
Super cool, like the way he talks about what it is made out of and why.
That is pretty awesome stuff. I actually saw 47 Ronin, and enjoyed it.
