Check Out A Brand New International Trailer For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

As if two behind-the-scenes videos weren’t enough, Sony has now released a brand new international trailer for what seems to be an epic sequel in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man saga:

What’s nice about this latest tidbit of Spidey goodness is it puts the focus back on only a couple of plot threads. Where much of the marketing since the Super Bowl has been about selling the idea of “villains unite,” this trailer is more about “check out Electro” and “who has it out for Peter Parker and his family?” It’s a refreshing change of pace from the chaotic nature of the last few videos, and really works to build up the seemingly tragic nature of Jamie Foxx’s character.

The more we see of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the clearer it’s becoming that this movie might just be as epic as Webb and Sony have claimed it to be. Just imagine the possibility of a movie that succeeds despite being alleged to suffer from the “too many villains” problem. If they pull this off, it could change everything we know about the super-hero genre.

Find out for yourself when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2nd.

  1. Shane says:

Super pumped for Electro’s dubstep powers.

  2. Mike says:

Does anyone notice what the oscorp building looks like in a certain angle…Sauron’s tower. Just a thought.

  3. Laurel says:

Awesome! I’m still a bit hesitant about the multiple villains, but I’m still excited. What’s the name of the wub-licious dubstep song in this trailer?? I must know!

  4. Atte says:

I heard that Sony proposed an idea to add Oscorp tower to Avengers, but they didn’t have time to add one anymore-but they tried to build bridge between each companies. Sony lending Spider-man to Avengers is more realistic than X-Men and Avengers.

  5. Uncle RayRay says:

I bet you the now reformed Dr Connors will help out.

  6. Chris Ryan says:

It looks awesome. I still do not understand Hollywood’s need to put 2 or 3 villains in a movie though. I personally think it tends to bog down the storyline by having too many story arcs.

  7. Alex Williams says:

Oh come on Sony, you should let marvel have Spiderman in the avengers. Agree a deal, you get a cut, whatever it is. But come on. Please?
