Channing Tatum is In for KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

This week, word came down that the long-rumored 21 Jump Street and Men in Black crossover film is really happening. But before Channing Tatum can star in that film, he may get an etiquette lesson from a “proper gentlemen” in the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Tatum confirmed he will appear in Kingsman: The Golden Circle in a post on his twitter account. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tatum was actually offered several roles in the Kingsman sequel. So, we don’t know who Tatum is playing or how large his role will be—the actor could even play himself in a simple cameo, but he isn’t the only high-profile performer to be pursued for this film. Earlier this week, Sir. Elton John was reportedly offered a part in Kingsman: The Golden Circle as well.

Taron Egerton, Sophie Cookson, Edward Holcroft, and Mark Strong are reprising their roles for The Golden Circle, and there have been hints that Colin Firth may be back as well. The Golden Circle has already lined up an impressive supporting cast that includes Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, and Pedro Pascal. Moore is said to be playing Poppy, the new lead villain, while Berry is portraying Ginger, the head of Statesman (their American Kingsman counterparts). Pascal’s character is rumored to be Jack, Ginger’s top spy and “a swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy” who will probably be a semi-friendly rival to Egerton’s Eggsy.

Presumably more casting announcements will be made before the cameras begin rolling in May. Kingsman: The Golden Circle will hit movie theaters on June 16, 2017.
