Celebrate Nerdoween With “Horror Happy Meals” for STRANGER THINGS, ASH VS EVIL DEAD, More

It’s finally the month of October, the one month out of the year when it’s completely okay to flaunt your love of all things horror or just spooky, and nobody thinks you’re a weirdo because of it. During this time of the year, even wholesome all-American institutions like McDonalds get in on the holiday spirit, and issue Halloween themed Happy Meals. Of course, all of these Halloween Happy Meals are super kid-friendly and safe, and the closest thing you’ll see to a ghost is maybe Casper, the friendly one.

But wouldn’t it be awesome if these Halloween Happy Meals were a little bit more, shall we say, “grown up?” Graphic designer Newt Cloninger-Clements thinks so, and has made a ton of mock-ups  of what more adult, horror-centric Happy Meals would look like. His custom Happy Meal images range from recent hits like Stranger Things, Ash Vs. The Evil Dead, and even the latest iteration of American Horror Story, the currently airing “My Roanoke Nightmare.”

Of course, the creator also has several other Horror Happy Meals based on classic scary movies like A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and many, many more. Even lesser known cult horror flicks like Sleepaway Camp and The Hunger made the cut. And it wouldn’t really be Halloween without Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, now would it?

In a statement, Newt Cloninger-Clements said “I’ve been a huge fan of horror films ever since childhood, so it’s no surprise that Halloween is my favorite holiday. My work is a tribute to all of the creative individuals that have influenced me over the years, and brought so much enjoyment to my life. I started the “Happy Meal” series as a way to make my friends and family smile when they were having a particularly bad day. I never imagined the response they would receive on the Internet. It touches me that so many people have enjoyed these pieces, because they were made with the best of intentions for my loved ones.”

You can see a selection of Newt Cloninger-Clements Horror Happy Meals in our gallery below, and be sure to check out his Twitter account or his  Pinterest page to see all of his latest creations, including dozens and dozens for non-horror cult films and TV shows as well.

What do you think of all these cool Horror Happy Meals? And how badly do you wish these were real, so you could excitedly get your movie monster toy at the drive-through window? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
