BlizzCon is upon us, which means it’s time for the Hearthstone World Championships! Whether you’re attending the convention or watching our BlizzCon coverage from home, you’ll want to grab a snack that’s quick and easy so you don’t miss a thing. These scones may look just like Hearthstones but I promise you they’re much, much tastier.

Hearthstone Hearthscones
(makes 8)
ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
black food gel dye
Wilton light blue sparkle gel

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Prep a baking sheet with a silpat or parchment.

In a bowl whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.

Add the butter, egg, milk, vanilla and one or two drops of black food gel dye, until just combined and the color is evenly gray.

This mixture is sticky, flour your hands and form 8 round oval balls of batter and place on the prepped baking sheet.

Bake for 15-17 minutes depending on your oven and let cool on a wire rack.

Once cooled, use the light blue sparkle gel to decorate.
