Cedar Point, a major coaster park in Sandusky, Ohio, will be unveiling a brand new steel coster next summer named Valravn, and it will break all kinds of world records at the self-proclaimed “roller coaster capital of the world.”

The new “dive coaster,” named after a supernatural bird in Danish Folklore, marks the fourth coaster Bolliger & Mabillard Cosulting Engineers Inc. has designed for Cedar Point, as well as the 100th coaster designed and built by the Swiss consultancy firm. B&M has also been responsible for some of the most recognizable coasters across the world for the past 25 years.

Valravn’s completion and opening will claim ten different world records for Cedar Point in one scream-inducing swoop:

1. Tallest dive coaster (223 feet)
2. Fastest dive coaster (75 mph)
3. Longest dive coaster (3,415 feet)
4. Most inversions on a dive coaster (three)
5. Longest drop on a dive coaster (214 feet)
6. Highest inversion on a dive coaster (165 feet)
7. Most roller coasters taller than 200 feet at one amusement park (5)
8. Most rides at one amusement park (72)
9. Most steel roller coaster track at one amusement park (52,125 feet/9.9 miles)
10. Most roller coaster track at one amusement park (60,110 feet/11.4 miles)

Cedar Point is no stranger to roller coaster records, as it has constantly pushed to outdo other parks, and even itself, with taller, faster, and steeper rides all across the park. From the opening of Gemini back in 1978 to B&M’s own Raptor coaster in ’94, and now next year’s unveiling of Valravn, the park keeps making a name for itself as the go-to destination for coaster fanatics. The only question left is how long it will take before someone else tries to claim these records.
