CASTLEVANIA Season 2 Trailer Unleashes a New Alliance Against Dracula

It’s been just over a year since Netflix debuted the four-episode first season of Castlevania, which loosely adapted the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Comic writer Warren Ellis re-envisioned the game’s story while introducing Trevor Belmont, the last surviving member of a monster hunting family. During his quest to bring down Dracula, Trevor has been joined by Sypha Belnades, a sorceress of immense power; and by Alucard, the human/vampire hybrid son of Dracula himself. This newly formed trio is tested in the first trailer for Castlevania season 2, as Dracula plots to wipe out every human on Earth.

Why is Dracula suddenly so driven to destroy humanity? His wife, Lisa, was falsely accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake. Dracula’s mad ambition may be borne from grief and anger, but he and his generals have the power and the resources to bring their nightmarish vision to life. Even the last of the Belmonts can’t withstand their forces alone. The bulk of the trailer focuses on Alucard, as he demonstrates the abilities that make him more than just an average dhampir. Alucard may hold the key to defeating his father, but the odds are stacked against the heroes as they head into their final showdown with the lord of vampires.

Castlevania season 2 will premiere on October 26 with eight episodes, which will wrap up the Castlevania III adaptation. But it may not be the last time we see the Belmonts, if the series is renewed.
