Carol’s Cookie Recipe from THE WALKING DEAD

C is for Carol, that’s good enough for me. On last Sunday’s The Walking Dead, tensions are starting to run high in Alexandria. No one’s quite sure what the angle is on this place. One thing’s for certain: even in a post-apocalyptic world, the one thing everyone still wants is cookies.

As Carol goes shopping in the pantry for chocolate and handguns, she’s confronted by a local boy, Sam. That is, until she turns the tables and scares the living bejesus out of him. Has the word “cookies” ever been so scary? Sam soon learns that Carol is not someone to be taken lightly. Were these cookies worth the death threats? There’s only one way to find out.

Now you can make your own version of Carol’s cookies and see for yourself. AMC has posted the recipe for Carol’s famous cookies on their website in a convenient recipe card. All it takes is some applesauce, a chocolate bar, and a floral sweater to ensure they’re extra tasty. Whether you’re on your way to an ominous cocktail party or heading out to slaughter some Walkers, these cookies are sure to help you overcome boredom and/or fear, whichever may strike first.

How many does this recipe make? Lots. Lots of cookies.

too much sugar, you will make roof shingles….if you can’t find sugar free applesauce (lol), use a 1/4 cup vegetable oil or shortening, or just use an egg, unsweetened cocoa/baker’s chocolate and add a little extra flour I also added 2 tbsp butter.

I must interject. I’ve seen this recipe all over but you NEVER leave cookies to cool on the sheet. They will continue to bake slightly and get too hard/brown on the bottoms. Remove to a plate or, better yet, a cooling rack. Love, Mom/Carol 😀

Someone make these and tell me if they’re any good.
