First “Official” Look At CAPTAIN MARVEL

Marvel Studios may not have any more movies coming out in 2018, but there’s still at least one more big event coming this year. Captain Marvel is coming to theaters in early March 2019, so we should be seeing Brie Larson‘s titular heroine in at least one trailer before 2018 wraps up. So far, Marvel and Disney have kept a pretty tight lid on Captain Marvel, and we haven’t even seen Larson in her final costume with Carol Danvers’ signature colors. However, an unexpected look behind the scenes has given us our first “official” look at Captain Marvel…on a notebook? Today’s Nerdist News takes to the skies to break it all down.

Join host and Alpha Flight’s favorite correspondent, Jessica Chobot, as she goes over the images that were quickly pulled from Amazon. The first of the two notebooks appears to have Larson’s Captain Marvel in her proper colors alongside her Kree Hala star insignia. But it’s the second notebook cover that really caught our attention.

If you look closely at the blue notebook, you’ll notice it’s covered with imagery of cats and constellations. That may be  significant, because there’s a very important cat in Carol Danvers’ life: Chewie. However, Chewie isn’t actually a cat in the Marvel Universe. She’s one of the Flerken, an alien race that just happens to resemble cats…aside from their weird mouth tentacles and reproductive cycles. We wouldn’t be too shocked if the MCU’s Chewie is just a cat, without any of the alien backstory. We fully expect/hope to see Chewie play a small part of Carol’s story in the movie.

What do you think about the first “official” look at Captain Marvel? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
