While the rivalry between Captain America and Red Skull goes back several decades in the comic book realm, their conflict was cut short in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after Cap’s first movie. But that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Cap’s ultimate bad guy. In the new episode of Marvel Funko Presents, Red Skull resurfaces in a Hydra submarine with a plan to attack Manhattan. But not if Captain America has anything to say about it!
Note that the Hydra sub appears to be empty save for the Skull himself. That’s because nobody in Hydra wants to volunteer for a fight with Captain America, or even his Funko Pop! counterpart. And who can blame them? This super soldier would never go the way of Hydra Cap, although sending the Red Skull on a one-way trip through the sub’s missile silo may have been a little more extreme than usual. But don’t worry, Cap’s not a murderer. The missile didn’t explode, so we’re sure that the Red Skull survived, even if he broke every bone in his Funko body. Assuming Funko toys have bones, of course.
