CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Concept Art Pits Heroes Against Heroes

This week, Captain America: Civil War is out on Blu-ray and DVD after its successful theatrical run earlier this year. We’ve already posted our review of the Blu-ray, but now it’s time to take a look at some of the art that went into the making of Civil War.

Marvel has passed along a few of the images from the new book Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War: The Art of the Movie, which includes concept art for a few of the characters. For example, the Scarlet Witch‘s costume in this pic moves her look even closer to her comic book counterpart by adding a headdress.

Some of the other pics include Black Panther, Crossbones, and a few variations on Vision as he explores his hilarious taste in fashion. He even looks a bit like Doctor Manhattan when wearing a full suit. One of the most striking images in the book is the Black Panther vs. Captain America art that seems to resemble a classic Cap vs. Wolverine cover by legendary comic artist Mike Zeck.

You can find the rest of the images in our gallery, including two very powerful moments from the film’s climactic battle between Cap, Iron Man, and the Winter Soldier, which finds two of the film’s leading heroes on the edge of defeat. There are also images of Crossbones’ final confrontation with Cap, Iron Man’s infiltration of the Hydra facility, and a very intriguing glimpse at the resting place of the unnamed Winter Soldiers.

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War: The Art of the Movie is out now, and it can be ordered online or located at book stores and comic book stores.
