Cancer-Fightin’ Comedy Gala, Now With Extra Added Garfunkel and Oates

Just a couple of weeks ago, we drew your attention to “Fancy and Enchanting,” a special benefit show being held at the Hayworth Theater in Los Angeles March 20th by Vanessa Ragland, our own Pop My Culture co-host, in her campaign to raise $60,000 in the fight against blood cancers and be the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Woman of the Year. At that time, we told you the lineup was headed by Bob Odenkirk and Rob Delaney, with Janet Varney, Paul Gilmartin, Grey DeLisle, the Spanglers (close personal friends of Vanessa and the evening’s co-host Jamie Flam), the Fringe Riders, and music from the Petrojvic Blasting Co. That’s all still true, and it’s this Tuesday night (tomorrow night, as of this posting).

But if you haven’t decided to buy a ticket yet, here’s another reason to come out and support this worthy cause: Garfunkel and Oates are now on the bill as well. Yep, Riki and Kate will be performing along with all the other guests we’ve previously announced. And, as before, 100% of the proceeds from the evening will be going directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Wait, there’s more. If you need even more reason to get your tickets now, you can get a discount by using a couple of coupon codes: The code NERDIST will get you $5 off general admission tickets and the code FANCYNERD will get you $15 off the VIP tickets. So you can save money AND support a great cause AND see some of comedy’s brightest lights in an intimate setting.

What? You’re still reading? Go already — CLICK HERE TO BUY TICKETS. And if you can’t make it, you can still donate to the cause by clicking here. But if you can, buy tickets and see the show, and support Vanessa in her fight against blood cancers.

As a Lymphoma survivor, I so wish I could attend this event!! I am also so very grateful to see that it exists 🙂

So much emphasis goes to other cancers, that blood cancers tend to get lost amid the pink and blue-ribboned brigades.

I had a very difficult time paying for treatment, because very few organizations exist that provide grant money for blood cancer.

I was lucky enough to rec’v a $150 check from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, but this was just a drop in the massive swimming pool of expenses.

Medical science needs the money for research, but patients also are desperately in need of money for treatment.

Thank you so much for supporting this event! I wish you only the best success!
