Can Patrick Stewart Make Dumb Reviews For Iconic Monuments Sound Smart?

Let’s be honest; Sir Patrick Stewart is such a damn fine actor, he could make a movie where he spend hours just reading aloud from the phone book and we would all be spellbound in rapt attention in the theater. While the video above isn’t of Stewart actually doing that, it does remind you that his dulcet tones can make almost anything sound regal. Well, almost anything.

While doing the rounds in promoting Logan, which will be his final appearance as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise, the classically trained actor took the time out to make a little video for the folks at over at GQ, one which will remind you how terrible (and terribly stupid) certain segments of our population are.

Much like those “ask a person on the street really easy questions they’ll get totally wrong on camera” things on TV talk shows, this little bit will have you laughing and shaking your head at the same time. In the segment, Patrick Stewart reads various internet comments, all where someone takes an iconic monument from somewhere around the world…and then trashes it with a 1-star review.

And let me tell you, these reviews are truly idiotic–for example, one person criticizes the Statue of Liberty for “just standing there,” and asks why the statue can’t have an amusement park ride attached to it. Another refers to Stonehenge as “dated.” It all just makes you want to do the Captain Picard face-palm. You can watch the video in its entirety above.

Did Patrick Stewart’s bit make you laugh, or cry? Or both? Let us know what you thought of it down below in the comments.
