CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS III Beta Dates Announced

The official launch date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is fast approaching, and after unveiling the new Zombies experience during San Diego Comic-Con, Treyarch revealed today that the game’s beta will begin exclusively on PlayStation 4 Wednesday, August 19, and will continue through August 23. Fans who are looking to try out the beta on PC and Xbox One will get a chance to do so from August 26-30.

According to the Activision, the beta will give fans the opportunity to test out the new momentum-based chained movement system they showed off during E3. You’ll also get to play around with Specialist classes–which are completely new to the game–find out which is your favorite, get a feel for the massive multiplayer maps, and more.

We’ve already gotten a chance to try out some of the new features, so believe us when we say it’s a lot of fun. The new modes of traversal– which we covered in our detailed look at the game’s features–when coupled with the abilities unique to whichever specialist you choose has shaken up the way you tackle multiplayer. While there are obviously some who are stubbornly unimpressed, and still pining for an older play-style, I think a lot of people will like the new additions.

While the details are slim on which maps and modes will be available in the beta, the developer promises to share more details leading up to its launch–which they note will be available for anyone who pre-orders the game on PS4, Xbox One, or PC from a participating retailer, or from the PlayStation Store, Xbox-Live Store and Steam.
