Cadbury Crème Egg McFlurries Are Happening, But Only in Australia (and Canada)

Just in time for Lent comes the mother of all desserts: McDonald’s has announced a new Cadbury Crème Egg McFlurry. Don’t go running out to your local MickeyD’s just yet, though — these bad boys are only available in Australia [Update: Also apparently in Canada! Yay!]. Well, you could hop a flight but 21 hours on a plane is a bit much, even for this ice cream lover.

Per the McDonald’s Australia website, these seasonal treats are “a delicious mouthful of chocolate pieces and Crème Egg topping, blended into a creamy soft serve.” If you look closely, the fine print says this creamy dream is only available after 10:30am at participating restaurants. So you can get breakfast all day but ice cream in the morning is a no-no? This is a CLEAR bias against those of us who wake up and head straight to the freezer.

They’re probably doing us a favor because this specialty dessert contains 54.4 grams of sugar! That’s more than twice the World Health Organization’s daily recommended limit for adults. Yikes. Time to put the spoon down and back away Mcslowly.

It’s no wonder the land down under got this amazing treat just for themselves; things are a little different down there. Apparently, Aussies enjoy their burgers with a big ol’ slice of beetroot nestled between the patties and the bun. Hmm… you guys can keep the beet burger, we’ll take all the Cadbury McFlurries.

Want a real life reaction to the look and taste? This YouTuber tried one of the first Cadbury Crème Egg McFlurries just one week ago. It doesn’t get fresher than that!
