He was the one who knocks. He was the L who BJ’ed. And now Bryan Cranston will be a giant face projected in a gaseous tube as Zordon in the Power Rangers movie. The news was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon via the official Power Rangers Twitter account and Cranston’s own Twitter Account, thus officially making this the most badass version of Zordon committed to screen–silver or small.

Blue ranger? Blue meth? It was clearly a match made in heaven.

For those of you who are in the dark, Zordon is the archnemesis of Rita Repulsa, who is responsible for granting the Power Rangers their sweet matching suits, their Power Morphers, and their Dinozords. In essence, he is Charlie and the Power Rangers are his Angels. Well, presuming that Charlie was trapped in a time warp and forced to manifest himself in an energy tube, using Alpha 5 as a robotic Jesse Pinkman to do his bidding.

This isn’t the first time that Cranston has been part of the Power Rangers franchise either. In a 2013 interview with IGN, Cranston recounted his past with the TV show:

“One of my jobs as a young actor starting out was voiceover. I also did dubbing. A lot of dubbing and a lot of voiceover. So foreign films would come in and I’d go in. One of the places that did a lot of that was Saban Entertainment. And they would take movies and then cartoons from all over the world and we’d go and do the English dub. And the Power Rangers came in and I did some voices for that. I had already been there for a number of years, just as a freelance guy coming in and coming out. And it paid like $50.00 an hour, which was fantastic. And you’d work two, three hours at least a day. So I had been there for awhile already and then the Power Rangers came in.”

Something tells me that this will pay a little bit better than $50 an hour.

Cranston joins a cast that includes Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, Becky G as the Yellow Ranger, RJ Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, and Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger. Directed by Dean Israelite and released by Lionsgate, Power Rangers is set to bow on March 24, 2017.
