Bryan Cranston Wants to Be a MARVEL Villain

In an interview with the U.K. publication Metro, Bryan Cranston sounded off on what he would want one of his next roles to be. For you Marvelites out there, the answer will definitely please you.

“You know what I’d like to do? I’d like to do some big superhero villain in some Marvel classic. Create one from scratch. I don’t know what I would do, but it would be nasty.”

Wow. That opens up a WORLD of possibilities. Creating an original villain to go up against the Avengers, or even, say, the Guardians of the Galaxy, would surely cause a shake-up in the MCU—even if it was someone as badass as Cranston. But there are also plenty of Marvel baddie roles for which Cranston may be perfect. Ne’er-do-wells like…

Doctor Octopus

With Spider-Man finally making his debut in the MCU, shouldn’t one of his classic villains also make the jump? If so, it should be Otto Octavius, and Cranston version would be nothing short of amazing in the role. Even if his version of Octavius was half as cold and calculating as Heisenberg, the wall-crawler would be in for a world of hurt. Plus, who wouldn’t want to hear the inner monologue of Bryan Cranston as the SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN?

The Supreme Intelligence

We know that the Kree exist in the MCU. We know that there will (eventually, someday) be a Captain Marvel movie. So it would make sense that the leader of the Kree world will eventually make an appearance. Being voiced by Cranston would definitely make him sound as scary as he looks.

Kang The Conquerer

This time-traveling villain has been a thorn in the side of Earth’s Mightest Heroes for years, and Cranston in the role would give it the gravitas it needs to make Purple and Green look menacing. Also it means the potential to get a two for one deal, since he could also portray the character’s other self, Immortus.

Even though Cranston said he wanted to play something original, I think Marvel could still find a way to convince Cranston to join the MCU—and these nasty fellas might just do the trick. Regardless, if Bryan Cranston joined the MCU, everyone would win.

So what do you think? What villain would YOU like to see Cranston play? Should Marvel take a risk and go with an original character? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
